Every year on 13 June, Foundation Day of Sangeet Sattra is celebrated by the fraternity of Sangeet
Sattra by offering their due respect to the maestro Barbayan Rasheswar Saikia
for his untiring effort in the establishment of the institute and also to all
the great personalities attached with it. The foundation stone of Sangeet
Sattra was laid by the then Chief Minister of Assam Late Hiteswar Saikia. On 13
June 2017, a bust of the Barbayan was inaugurated within the premises itself.
