The institution imparts theoretical and practical training of Sattriya Nritya, Badya (khol) and vocal training of Borgeet under a 7 (seven) years based syllabus to its students irrespective of age, caste, creed and religion. Initially the diploma was of 5 years to impart quality knowledge of sattriya music in Assam, Sangeet Sattra prepared a fully developed syllabus and extended the 5 years course to 7 years diploma and named the various stages of the diploma course with the academic years comprising Prarambhik, Prathamik, Prathama Pratham , Prathama Dwitya, Madhyama, Kushal and Gunin.
There is no age limit for admission to the Prarambhik and Prathamik year and these two years include only practical knowledge of basics. Minimum age limit for getting admitted to Prathama Pratham Barsha is 9 years. Both practical and theory part is included from Prathama to Gunin. The session starts from the month of August every year and ends in July. Annual Examinations are conducted in the early part of August and results are declared after two months of the same.
Classes are conducted every week on Saturday from 3.00 PM to 5.00 PM and on Sunday from 8.00 AM to 1.00PM. The fee structure of the institution for the 3 categories Nritya (Nartan) Badya (Khol) and Vocal (Gayan) are the same and change from time to time as per guidelines.
Moreover, students who have already taken the 7 year diploma (i.e Gunin passed students) are also trained in other week dyas for their further development.
